Ninh Binh is not only famous for its amazing landscapes such as Trang An, Tam Coc – Bich Dong etc, but also well-known for a lot of historical relics and spiritual destinations.
There are many historical relics from the Dinh, post Le to Ly reigns in Ninh Binh, and some of among those destinations have been listed in spiritual tours nowadays. Belows are some of them.
Bich Dong Pagoda – Green Pearl Grotto Pagoda
Had been named as “Vietnam’s second nicest grotto”, Bich Dong Pagoda is located on Bich Dong limestone mountain range and being 3 kms away on the south west from Thuyen Dinh Wharf. This ancient architecture was built as specific style, the Padoda was divided into three Pagodas. Three palaces on three separated levels: Ha (Lower) Pagoda, Trung (Middle) Pagoda, Thuong (Upper) Pagoda with stairs up along mountain linking three palaces. Here, Pagodas, mountains and caves combine harmoniously under the shades of green giant trees making a fanciful scenery.
Nguyen Master Temple
The Temple was built to worship and reminisce Master Nguyen Minh Khong – a Master in Dynasty’s Ly, located in Gia Vien District and on the base of former Vien Quang Pagoda which had been built by himself in 1121. Nguyen Master Temple was listed in National Artitic Architectural Relics on Feb 1989.
Spiritual Zone – Bai Dinh Mountain, Pagoda
This 700 hectares area was built in Gia Sinh Commune, Gia Vien District. It not only has a solemn and quiet beauty but also a extremely magnificent, vast place. This is a spiritual destination has set the most records in both domestic and oversea records: The copper Tam The sets – the largest in Vietnam, the longest Lobby – La Han Lobby , the highest and heaviest copper statue – Thich Ca Buddha statue, the giantest bronze bell etc. Moreover, many Xa Loi pearls, treasures of Buddhist have been preserved here.
Hoa Lu Ancient Capital
Till now, Hoa Lu ancient Capital has been maintained a lot of valued historic cultural architectures such as Temples and Monuments of King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh… Besides, many amazing caves and mountains, as well as the remains of an ancient capital are around here.
Phat Diem Cathedral
Phat Diem Cathedral is located in Phat Diem town, Kim Son District with an area approximately 22 hectares. It is considered as one of the most beautiful churches in Vietnam. A unique feature in its architechture is a harmonious combination between Catholic church style and Vietnam royal traditional design. The cathedral was built entirely of stone so it is so-called The Stone Church – A unique style in Vietnam and in the world also.
